Slipcase
Alone, the slipcase box is nothing more than an empty case with an open side, however when used in conjunction with a portfolio book or other product, it becomes a sturdy shell. This product is built to the exact specifications of the contents. Properly executed, the slipcase magnifies the impact of a presentation by adding another layer of reveal and protection.
Hand built, using a wood or board frame, the slipcase is tough and light weight. It can easily be carried to a presentation but can also spend a lifetime on a library shelf diligently protecting its contents. The box can be wrapped in any material – to match or coordinate with the book inside, to enhance the presentation and protect its condition especially during transportation.
An important question when considering the slipcase is how to easily separate it from the presentation it contains. The simplest method is the gravity method where the case is turned at an angle until gravity takes over. Other approaches include the ribbon pull to slowly guide the contents out, or a thumb cut half way along the wall to act as a place for the fingers to pull and separate. Another preferred design to permit smoothe separation is a small cutout block at the bottom of the opening so the book may be grabbed from beneath and then easily removed. Along with all our other products, the slipcase may be stamped using any font or logo in myriad colors and finishes. Many of our customers match the stamping on the slipcase and book inside, while others use this opportunity to express their creativity in an exaggerated manner.
When turned on its belly, the slipcase can house a drawer. In addition, when standing we typically see the slipcase used to hold a portfolio, bound book, set of periodicals or any other number of products.
